Fer Juaristi

There was zero intention to do any kind of post from the workshop I did this last sunday with Destination Wedding Photographer Fer Juarisit. I didn't want to just share clicks from a workshop where everything was controlled for me - beautiful model, great photographer working with them and wonderful light. Too easy and not at all how I shoot.

So, I used that opportunity to play. I climbed up light polls to get perspectives no one else could get. I shot into and through things others were missing because they were to focused on getting that safe shot to show on their blog. I was learning from Fer and my work will be different from this day forward, so I really felt like it would honor him to provide this mini review on my blog.

Fer is one of those rare 100% original and genuine people. Meeting him alone is worth anyone doing the workshop. I promise you he will encourage and inspire you with who he is. Fer is an open book and shares his struggles and his success with ease.

By starting off with a powerpoint it helps keep the conversation open and on point and his presentation naturally leads into the first session with the models. It's during that session that you will see magic happen. Trust me, I was very very much impressed with how at ease and fast he was. A master at his craft.

A few clicks:

Thank you so much Fer for coming and hanging out in Denver. I wish you would move here so we could hang out more. Guess I'll have to bring you here for one of my weddings to shoot with me. Check out Fer's post here.

Also, a MASSIVE thank you to SmugMug, the amazing company where I do UI Design, for sponsoring part of this workshop. You guys are such an amazing company!
